Jessie Wright
Executive Director Strategic Planning, Department of Transport and Planning
Jessie has worked for the Victorian Government since May 2020 and is the Executive Director Strategic Planning, responsible for leading integrated strategic land use and transport planning to shape a thriving and connected Victoria.
Jessie has over 20 years’ experience working in a variety of government and consulting positions in both regional Victoria and Melbourne. Prior to the Victorian State Government, she held positions with the City of Moonee Valley, City of Ballarat, Parsons Brinckerhoff and Research Planning Design Group (TBA Planners). Along with executive leadership, her experience includes strategic and statutory land use planning, economic development and facilitation, diverse policy and strategy development and delivery.
Jessie has been a member of a variety of advisory committees and industry steering groups, along with having received a State Planning Institute of Australia award for the Moonee Valley 2040 (MV2040) project, which focused on 20-minute neighbourhood realisation.
Jessie holds a Bachelor Applied Science (Planning), Bachelor Social Science (Environment) both from RMIT University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Melbourne Business School.
